RU Series Crossed Roller Bearings
(Integrated Inner/Outer Ring Type)
RU series crossed roller bearing (Inner ring integrated with Outer Ring): Since the mounting holes are provided, the model does not require a presser flange or housing. In addition, because it has an integrated inner and outer ring structure and is equipped with washers, its performance is minimally affected by the mounting procedure, ensuring stable rotation accuracy and torque. This model can be used for both inner-ring rotation and outer-ring rotation.

How to Properly Install Crossed Roller Bearings?
Ensuring correct installation of crossed roller bearings is critical for achieving high precision, smooth rotation, and long service life. Follow these step-by-step instructions for best results.
1. Inspect Components Before Installation
Thoroughly clean the bearing housing, shaft, and any mounting surfaces.
Check for burrs, debris, or surface irregularities that could affect performance.
2. Insert the Bearing Carefully
Thin-walled crossed roller bearings are prone to tilting during insertion.
Keep the bearing level and tap lightly around the circumference using a plastic hammer.
Insert gradually until the bearing is fully seated, confirmed by a consistent contact sound.
3. Installing a Fixed Flange
Position the fixed flange over the bearing and gently shake it to align the bolt holes.
Insert bolts by hand, ensuring smooth threading without resistance from misalignment.
Tighten bolts in multiple stages (3–4 passes) using a diagonal sequence to evenly distribute pressure.
For separable inner or outer rings, slightly rotate the integrated ring during tightening to correct any misalignment.
Tips for Optimal Performance
Always handle bearings carefully to avoid contamination or damage.
Confirm that lubrication and seals are in place before final operation.
Regularly monitor bearing temperature and alignment during initial operation.
Crossed roller bearings installed correctly ensure high rotational accuracy, reliability under heavy loads, and long operational life-making them ideal for precision machinery, CNC rotary tables, and industrial automation applications.
Lubrication Guidelines for Crossed Roller Bearings
1. Pre-Filled Grease
These bearings come pre-filled with high-quality lithium soap-based grease (No. 2), allowing immediate use without additional lubrication.
Regular lubrication is still necessary due to the bearing's compact internal structure and rolling contact design, which requires consistent grease distribution to ensure optimal performance.
2. Grease Replenishment
A lubrication hole is integrated, connecting to the oil grooves in the inner and outer rings, allowing for easy grease replenishment.
Even with occasional use, it is recommended to refresh the grease every 6 to 12 months to maintain smooth operation and proper internal coverage.
3. Initial Operation Considerations
Bearings filled with grease may exhibit temporarily higher starting torque because of viscous resistance.
Once the excess grease disperses through the sealing baffle, torque levels stabilize to normal.
For thin-section bearings lacking internal oil grooves, it is recommended to install a lubrication groove on the inner diameter of the support base to facilitate proper grease flow.
4. Important Precautions
Never mix lubricants with different properties, as this can compromise bearing performance and shorten service life.
Proper lubrication ensures long-term reliability, low friction, and consistent rotational accuracy, making these bearings ideal for precision machinery, CNC rotary tables, and other high-accuracy applications.
