Angular contact ball bearings used in precision machine tools are divided into two types, one is used on the spindle of the machine tool, and the other is used on the high-speed grinding spindle and electric spindle of the grinder. Their structure and performance are also different depending on the application. Angular contact bearings used for machine tool spindles require high rotation accuracy, sufficient rigidity, and load-carrying capacity, space-saving, etc, commonly used types are 70C, 70AC, 70B, 718B, 718AC, 719AC, 719B, 72B, 72AC, 73B, and 73AC series. The 70 series can withstand light loads, and the 72 series can withstand heavy loads. C means the contact angle is 15°, AC means the contact angle is 25°, and B means the contact angle is 40°.

In addition to the above requirements, angular contact ball bearings used for high-speed grinding spindles of grinders also require the bearings to run at extremely high speeds. In order to reduce the rotating sliding and spinning of the ball under the action of centrifugal force and gyro torque at high speed, steel balls of smaller diameter are often used in the design. For high-speed spindles with high d•n value and long service life, ceramic balls with light specific gravity and good wear resistance can be used to replace steel balls to achieve perfect performance. The service life of high-speed precision angular contact ball bearings will be inflected by the installation. The following matters should be noted:

a. The bearing installation should be carried out in a cleanroom. The bearings should be carefully selected and the spacers for the bearings should be ground. The parallelism of the spacers should be controlled within 1um while maintaining the same height of the inner and outer ring and the spacers.

b. The bearing should be cleaned before installation. When cleaning, the inner ring slopes upwards, the hand feels flexible, and there is no sense of stagnation. After drying, put in the specified amount of grease, if it is oil mist lubrication, put a small amount of oil mist oil;

c. Special tools should be used for bearing installation, with uniform force, and no beating is allowed;

d. Bearing storage should be clean and ventilated, free of corrosive gas, and relative humidity should not exceed 65%. Long-term storage should be regularly rust-proof.
