Reasons for angular contact ball noise

- Oct 16, 2023-

Angular contact ball bearing is a kind of parts commonly used in mechanical transmission devices, due to its high reliability and high power transmission ability, it becomes one of the parts commonly used in various mechanical equipment. However, in the process of use, we will also encounter the noise emitted when the ball rotates, which is caused by the following reasons:

First, friction noise is one of the most common noises. This is due to the small contact area between the ball and the shaft, and the movement of the ball will generate a large friction force, which will lead to friction noise. However, we can reduce the generation of friction noise by applying lubricant.

Second, the selection of the material of the ball will also affect the generation of noise. If the hardness of the ball material is too low or too hard, it will lead to the generation of noise. Therefore, when selecting the ball parts, we should select the appropriate ball material according to the machine's operating conditions to reduce the noise generation.

Finally, the mounting accuracy of the ball contact will also have a certain effect. If the mounting accuracy of the ball is not high enough, the intersection point of the ball and the shaft will be shifted, which will lead to the generation of noise. Therefore, when installing the angular contact ball, it is necessary to maintain good mounting accuracy to reduce noise generation.

In short, the noise generated by the angular contact ball is the result of a combination of factors. We can minimize the noise generation and ensure the normal operation of the machine only if we select appropriate materials, perform good installation and properly use appropriate lubricants.
