Identification of motor bearing performance and potential failures

- Oct 16, 2023-

Motor bearings are an important part of the motor, which has a decisive influence on the operating quality, service life and stability of the motor. Therefore, the performance and failure of motor bearings must be carefully identified and dealt with in a timely manner to ensure the stable operation of the motor.

First of all, we need to understand the performance of motor bearings. The main performance of motor bearings include load carrying capacity, accuracy, service life, smooth running and corrosion resistance. Load capacity means that the bearing will not produce abnormalities under constant rotation and heavy load. Accuracy refers to the size and shape accuracy of the bearing, which directly affects the rotor running balance of the motor. Durability refers to the service life of the motor bearings. Smoothness refers to the stability of the bearing during operation. Corrosion resistance refers to the bearing's ability to resist corrosion in harsh environments.

Second, we need to understand the possible failures of motor bearings. Common failures include excessive bearing wear, poor bearing sealing, external collision, and internal bearing defects. All of these failures lead to a decrease in bearing performance, which affects the operating quality and life of the motor.

In order to detect bearing failure in time, we can identify it by the following methods:
1. Observe whether the bearing rotates smoothly, with or without abnormal noise or frictional sound.
2. Observe whether there is obvious wear or cracks on the bearing surface and whether the bearing seal is intact.
3. Check that there is no foreign matter inside the motor bearing and that the bearing is adequately lubricated.
4. Measure the axial clearance, radial clearance, axial preload and other parameters of the bearings and check whether they are within the specified range.

In short, engine bearings are an important part of the engine and have a decisive influence on the operating quality and service life of the engine. Therefore, we must pay attention to the performance and failure of the bearings in time to maintain the normal operation and safety of the motor.
