How to inspect the crossed roller bearing during operation?

The crossed roller bearing is widely used for industrial robots. The bearing is one of the important parts of robots. If the bearing is damaged, the robot can't run normally, so we should pay more attention and check frequently in the daily use process. In addition to the check before and after the operation, the bearing needs to be checked during operation. What should we do during the operation?

How to check the crossed roller bearing when it is running? What should be checked? It's better to mainly check the following aspects.

1. Bearing Running Sound:

It is difficult to check the bearing’s quality when it is running, because the running speed of the bearing may be fast, and it is difficult to keep up with the speed observed with human eyes. So we can take the way of listening to check. We can listen to the rolling sound of the cross roller bearing in the process of running, to check whether there is an abnormal sound. This is very important. If the running sound is abnormal, there are the following problems:

1). Slight peeling damage of the bearing;

2). Insufficient lubrication of the bearing;

3). There are some foreign matters that enter inside of the bearing;

We can clean the bearing, or inject enough lubricating grease or oil into the bearing. But, if there are slight peeling damages, we’d better change a new crossed roller bearing for the industrial robot.


2. Measuring vibration frequency

Generally, the mechanical parts will make some sounds or vibrate slightly when they are used, but if the vibration frequency is too high, it must be abnormal. Bearing vibration is very sensitive to bearing damage, such as peeling, indentation, rust, crack, wear, and so on. Therefore, the vibration can be measured by using a special bearing vibration measuring device (frequency analyzer, etc.). The abnormal situation can not be inferred by frequency division. The measured values are different due to the service conditions of the cross roller bearing or the installation position of the sensor, so it is necessary to analyze and compare the measured values of each machine in advance to determine the judgment standard.



3. Bearing Temperature

For the inspection of bearing temperature, if the oil hole can be used to directly measure the temperature of the bearing outer ring, it is more appropriate. Generally, the temperature of the bearing rises slowly with the operation and reaches a stable state after 1-2 hours. The normal temperature of the bearing varies with the heat capacity, heat dissipation, speed, and load of the machine. If the lubrication and installation are not appropriate, the bearing temperature will rise sharply, and abnormally high temperatures will occur. At this time, the operation must be stopped and necessary preventive measures shall be taken. So if there is a high temperature during operation, it needs to be repaired immediately.
