Angular contact ball bearings are widely used in precision machine tools, high-speed motors, precision instruments and other high-precision mechanical equipment. The protrusion of angular contact ball bearing refers to the distance between the inner ring end face and the outer ring end face at the same end face of the bearing after preloading a single bearing. The protrusion of angular contact ball bearing is an important parameter affecting the performance of the bearing. The measurement of protrusion value is a necessary procedure in the assembly process, and special instruments should be equipped for measurement.
Pneumatic pressure measurement
Most manufacturers of angular contact ball bearings in the mass production groups adopt the method of pneumatic pressure measurement. The measurement of protrusion should go through the following basic steps:
After the reference circuit is applied and the air source is adjusted, the required position of the air source is adjusted, and the required position of the air supply is adjusted. Install the bearing to be measured into the spindle, locate it with the reference end face of the outer ring, and apply the specified axial force on the lower end face of the inner ring (i.e. measuring load). Measure the relative height difference between the non-reference end of the inner ring and the reference end face of the outer ring, and measure the value and small value of the protrusion by rotating the spindle.
Lever pressure measurement
A small number of manufacturers or small groups of angular contact ball bearings usually use the lever pressure measurement method. The measurement of protrusion should go through the following basic steps:
Adjust the counterweight position according to the measuring load, install the reference piece into the spindle to enter the measurement position, start the lever to apply the required load, adjust the reference value of the measuring meter, and then remove the reference part. The bearing to be measured is installed into the spindle and positioned with the reference end face of the outer ring. The axial force of the vertical end face is applied by the lever on the lower end face of the inner ring (i.e. measuring load). Measure the relative height difference between the non-reference end of the inner ring and the reference end face of the outer ring, and measure the value and small value of the protrusion by rotating the spindle. The measured bearing protrusion value shall be recorded according to the number for bearing assembly.
Substitute instrument measurement
Occasionally, the manufacturer of an angular contact ball bearing is not equipped with a measuring instrument. Alternative instruments are often used for measurement. When processing a large series of angular contact ball bearings, the protrusion is measured by using an alternative instrument
Install the reference part into the positioning mandrel of the instrument into the measuring position, adjust the measuring meter to make the reference value pointer be 0, and take down the reference part. Install the bearing to be measured into the positioning mandrel and locate it with the lower end face of the inner ring. Apply the axial force on the reference end face of the outer ring (i.e. the measuring load sleeve). Take the non-reference end face of the outer ring as the measuring point, measure the value and small value of the protrusion by rotating the mandrel. Measure the relative height difference f between the non-reference end of the inner ring and the reference end face of the outer ring. The relative protrusion of the reference end of the inner ring to the non-reference end face of the outer ring δ = C + f-b. When the replacement instrument is used to measure the bearing protrusion, the improved end pendulum instrument or height measuring instrument can be used.
For different types of assembled bearings, different protrusion measurement methods can be adopted under different conditions. If the above-mentioned protrusion measurement methods are carried out carefully and effectively, the finished bearings can meet the requirements of "technical conditions for assembled angular contact ball bearings".
