The basic material requirements of precision roller bearings largely depend on the working performance of bearings. 1、 High contact fatigue strength
Contact fatigue failure is the main form of bearing failure. When the rolling bearing is running, the rolling element moves between the raceways of the inner and outer rings of the crossed roller bearing, and its contact part bears the periodic alternating load, which can reach hundreds of thousands of times per minute. Under the repeated action of periodic alternating stress, the contact surface appears fatigued spalling. When the rolling bearing begins to peel off, the vibration and noise of the bearing will increase, the working temperature will rise sharply, and the bearing will be damaged, which is called contact fatigue failure. Therefore, the rolling bearing steel should have high contact fatigue strength.
2、 High wear resistance
When the rolling bearing works normally, there is not only rolling friction but also sliding friction. The main action parts of friction caused by changing sliding are the contact surface between rolling element and raceway control, the contact surface between rolling element and isolation block, and between isolation block and ferrule guide rib. The existence of sliding friction in rolling bearings inevitably causes wear of bearing parts. If the wear resistance of the bearing steel is poor, the rolling bearing will lose its accuracy prematurely due to wear, or the vibration of the cross roller bearing will increase and the service life will decrease due to the decrease of the rotation accuracy. Therefore, the high wear resistance of bearing steel is required.
3、 High elastic limit
When the crossed roller bearing works, the contact pressure on the contact surface of the bearing is very large under the heavy load, especially under the heavy load. In order to prevent the bearing steel from producing excessive plastic deformation under high contact stress, which will lead to the decline of bearing accuracy or surface cracks, the bearing steel is required to have a higher elastic limit.
4、 Suitable hardness
Hardness is one of the important indexes of rolling bearing. It is closely related to material contact strength, wear-resistance and elastic limit, and directly affects the service life of cross roller bearing. The hardness of bearing is usually determined by the way and size of bearing load, bearing size and wall thickness. The hardness of cross roller bearing steel should be appropriate, too large or too small will affect the service life of Chinese bearings. The hardness of thin-walled crossed roller bearing is above 60.
5. Impact toughness
Many crossed roller bearings will be subjected to a certain impact load in the process of use, so the bearing steel is required to have a certain toughness to ensure that the bearing will not be damaged by the impact. For the bearing that bears a large impact load, such as rolling mill bearing and railway bearing, the material is required to have relatively high medium impact toughness and fracture toughness. Some of these bearings use a bainite quenching heat treatment process, and some use carburized steel material, in order to ensure that these bearings have better impact toughness.
6、 Good dimensional stability
The rolling bearing is a precise mechanical part, and its precision is calculated in micrometer. In the process of long-term storage and use, the change of internal structure or stress will cause a change of bearing size, resulting in the loss of bearing accuracy. Therefore, in order to ensure the dimensional accuracy of cross roller bearing, bearing steel should have good dimensional stability.
The production process of the crossed roller bearing is various, and the production cycle is long. Some semi-finished products or finished parts need to be stored for a long time before assembly. Therefore, bearing parts are easy to rust in the production process or in the preservation of finished products, especially in the air of Chaoxian. Therefore, it is required that the bearing steel should have good anti-luring performance. 8、 Good process performance
In the production process of rolling bearing, its parts have to go through many cold and hot working procedures. This requires that the bearing steel should have good process performance, such as high temperature, hot forming performance, cutting, grinding and heat treatment performance, in order to meet the needs of large quantities of heavy, high efficiency, low cost, and high-quality production.
